Shirkey Vet Clinic opened its doors in 2007. We are a general service animal hospital and welcome pet patients needing routine medical, surgical, and dental care. We have provides years of experience treating serious conditions and offering regular pet wellness care. Beyond first-rate pet care, we make our clinic comfortable, kid-friendly, and calm.

Position Purpose

Shirkey Veterinary Clinic is a growing practice utilizing multiple Certified Veterinary Technicians and veterinary assistants to care for our patients and serve our clients. Our growth has kept us busy and we are excited to add another doctor to our team!

 

We have a clientele that is highly invested in their pet’s care and trust us to recommend the best workups and treatment options. Our experienced support staff allows you to focus on patient care and client education, so you don’t have to be bogged down by busywork.

 

We have a beautiful building,  a wonderful work environment, and a leadership team that will  support your goals. The only interests we think a candidate would need to thrive at our practice is client communication, dentistry, and surgery. We welcome veterinarians of all experience levels - new grads and experienced DVMs alike.

 

For our new grad candidates, we promise you will receive intensive, hands-on mentorship for both medical and surgical cases.

 

For experienced DVMs, we assure you will receive the equipment, collaboration, and support you need to continue displaying your wonderful skillsets.

Shirkey Veterinary Clinic Team - November 2024

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
