East Lawn Animal Hospital has serving Fort Dodge, IA, and the surrounding community for over 40 years.  We are a full-service hospital and only offer the highest-quality care and compassion. Because of this, many of our clients have been coming to us for generations!

 

We are equipped with in-house lab (IDEXX), digital x-ray, complete dental unit, and all the other tools needed to practice your best medicine.

Position Purpose

East Lawn Animal Hospital is looking to hire an enthusiastic, and motivated managing veterinarian to join our practice!

 

If your interests include mixed animal medicine, we encourage you to apply! We have been leaders in small animal medicine within our community for years, however our facility has the space and potential to provide great mixed animal services as well.

 

Our practice would serve as the perfect opportunity for a veterinarian looking to display leadership and for the potential to mold their own services to an already established client base. Whether these be on-site services or farm calls, we’ll let you decide!

About the area: Fort Dodge is a rural community located in North Central Iowa along the Des Moines River. Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
