Carolina Family Vet is a full-service veterinary clinic that provides compassionate, quality pet care to Asheville, Leicester, Weaverville, Fairview, Candler, and surrounding areas. Position Purpose

We are looking to add another veterinarian to our team! We are a full-service practice that sees small animals and pocket pets. Our hospital is made up of smart and caring professionals and has impressive reputation from our 40 years of helping our community.

 

We were fortunate to completely remodel our facility in 2020, giving us one of the most state-of-the-art facilities in our area. Our hospital is laid out to feel like home, as well as equipped with cutting edge technologies and all the modern therapies needed to practice top-tier medicine. This equipment includes:

  • Patterson Digital Radiography
  • Digital Dental Radiography
  • Therapeutic Laser (Companion Animal Health CTX-IQ)
  • Ultrasound GE
  • In-House Laboratory with Sedivue (IDEXX)

In collaboration with our current MDVM, Dr. Miller, a new ADVM's schedule would rotate as follows:

  • Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (8 AM to 5 PM) and 1/2 day Saturday (8:30 AM to 12:30 PM).
  • Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (8 AM to 5 PM) ; Off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $115,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
