We are a progressive small aniaml practice known for executing elevated levels of medicine. Additionaly, we are Fear Free certified and AAHA accredited.

Position Purpose

At Dodgeville Veterinary Service in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, we are a progressive small animal practice known for executing elevated levels of medicine. Additionally, we are Fear Free certified and AAHA accredited! We are a 4-doctor practice with about twenty additional support staff of multiple certified veterinary technicians. Because of this, our doctors are never without an extra set of hands. We are a team of kind, encouraging, and highly skilled professionals ready to welcome another associate veterinarian of any experience level to our one-of-a-kind group.

There are a variety of activities to keep you entertained year-round, including the Annual Grilled Cheese Championship, Dodgeville Dodge Fest, Off the Vine Wine Walk, and Farmer’s Appreciation Day, just to mention a few. Dodgeville is located among the unglaciated hills of Wisconsin’s Driftless area and offers a fantastic region to explore. Governor Dodge State Park offers camping, a waterfall, lakes, and 5,000 acres of fun three miles north of the city. We are also just an hour west of the beautiful town of Madison!

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
