Animal and Avian Medical Center has been serving Brunswick and the nearby communities for over 20 years. We have 4 experienced veterinarians and 8 registered technicians that are dedicated to helping many species of pets and their people.

 

We are a small animal/exotic full-service hospital, and we see just about anything that could be a pet in your home (dogs, cats, birds, poultry, pot belly pigs, guinea pigs, and all small mammals)! We have been a prominent member of our community for 25+ years, boasting a great reputation and significant client retention.

 

Our surgical caseload consists of routine surgeries, heavy orthopedics, dentals, exotic surgeries, and many soft tissue surgeries that are referred by local DVMs. Some of our equipment includes:

  • Digital Radiology
  • Mobile Digital Dental Radiology
  • 3 Surgical Units
  • 2 Dental Tables with High-Speed Drills

  • In House Blood & Urine Analysis for Mammals, Birds, and Reptiles

Position Purpose

We are looking for another veterinarian to join our amazing team! We encourage veterinarians of all experience levels looking to join a veteran team to apply. Most of our team members have been on staff for over 10 years, which brings a great family feel to our practice atmosphere.

 

A doctor who has special interest in surgery, exotics, ultrasound, dental, orthopedics, or chemotherapy would thrive at our practice! Our doctors also enjoy a 3-4 day work week, no Sunday workdays, no emergency, no after hours, and no-on call expectations.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
