Position Purpose

We are seeking a Managing Veterinarian to lead our fantastic team! Our doctors and staff are enthusiastic animal lovers who are happy to welcome another great individual to join our mission. If you are a motivated DVM with at least three years of experience looking to take the next step in your career, keep reading!

Though active, our hospital is home to a relaxed work environment. We currently have two doctors, two certified veterinary technicians, and an excellent practice manager (who doubles as a technician) working happily and cohesively with one another. Our friendly and diverse clientele comes from both urban and rural backgrounds, making everyone feel welcomed and included.

About the area: Lindstrom is an area of dense natural beauty virtually surrounded by lakes. Crossing the channel bridge between North and South Lindstrom Lake, you enter a bustling city filled with unique shops and eateries. Known as "Little Sweden," this historic town draws visitors in with its charm and not-to-be-missed Scandinavian donuts! Year-round, you can find our residents engaging in many outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, kayaking, or camping. Lindstrom is also known for its exceptional community atmosphere, housing, and school systems.

  • Schedule: We offer a fixed 4-day work week with rotating half-day Saturdays and no on-call.

  • PTO-3 weeks vacation/sick days that we don’t make impossible to use!

  • Mentorship: We offer a multi-day training program to learn the business end of managing a practice to support managing DVMs stepping into their new leadership role.
  • Helping Hands: Have an adequate number of skilled support staff by your side, with a 1:1 doctor-to-tech ratio. Focus on your patients, and let your techs do what they do best!

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
