The Silverthorn Animal Clinic is a full-service animal hospital that takes both emergency and less urgent medical, surgical, and dental issues. Our staff has experience with all types of illnesses and treatments. We make our clinic comfortable, kid-friendly, and a very calm environment for pets, clients, and our team.

 

We offer specialty care of chiropractic services, holistic services, acupuncture, exotic medicine, reproduction, and stem cell/PRP Prolo Therapy, and ultrasound.

 

We have a large facility with a spacious treatment area, separate surgical suite, and three wet tables. We love our wonderful atmosphere and team culture. Our team consists of one LVT, multiple technicians, assistants, and CSRs, who are fully utilized to ensure our days operate smoothly and efficiently.

Silverthorn Animal Clinic is seeking a Managing Veterinarian who enjoys staying clinically active while providing steady, approachable leadership in a well-established small animal practice.

 

This role is designed for a DVM who wants to lead without stepping away from medicine. You’ll remain hands-on in both the exam room and surgery suite, help guide medical standards, support associate development, and partner with leadership to maintain a positive, low-drama team culture.

 

The practice supports strong technician utilization, realistic scheduling, and the autonomy to practice high-quality medicine—without pressure to rush cases. Surgical experience is essential, with a strong emphasis on reproduction medicine. Caseload and responsibilities are adjusted based on experience and comfort level, allowing you to lead confidently while continuing to grow clinically.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality medical and surgical care to companion animals, including physical exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, dentistry, and surgery
  • DVM will deliver clear, compassionate client communication, including preventive care guidance and end-of-life support
  • Remain clinically active while leading by example in medical standards and ethical decision-making
  • Support and mentor associate veterinarians through day-to-day guidance and collaboration
  • Foster a positive, team-centered environment that supports quality medicine and patient outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and medical protocols
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records

Requirements/Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA-accredited program
  • Experience with reproductive surgery, including C-sections, required
  • Active (or eligible) Florida veterinary license
  • DEA license (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a passion for pet wellness
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs; team assistance available for heavier patients or equipment

Pay Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
