At Athens Animal Clinic we care for pets with the same understanding and compassion we would want for ourselves. Our patients are each valued as individuals and are treated as if they were our own.

 

We have been part of our community since 1971 and AAHA accredited since 1996. Our waiting room is very homey and doesn’t feel like a veterinarian office. We consider our clients and patients a part of our own family. We love nostalgia and all things classic and timeless.

Position Purpose

​​​​Athens Animal Clinic in Columbus, IN is eager to add another veterinarian to our team!

We prioritize compassion and utilizing the most up-to-date technologies for all our clients and their pets. We are equipped with tools such as digital radiology, ultrasound, laser therapy, and more which truly allows us to practice our best medicine.

Our downtown is vibrant, lively, colorful, and you will find dozens of restaurants, cafés, shops, and boutiques.  The city has plenty of opportunity for art and music, outdoor parks and gardens, and many other recreational activities. We are also just a 45-minute drive to Indianapolis and an hour to Louisville - both providing plenty of other chances for fun and adventure!

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
