Since 1998, Heartland Veterinary Hospital of Elizabethtown has been serving Elizabethtown, Hardin County, and the surrounding areas, by providing the highest level of veterinary services to our clients and their 4-legged family members. We are a full-service, small animal practice that is in the 10% of all hospitals with an AAHA accreditation.

Our practice is modern and well equipped, with amenities such as:

Position Purpose

We are looking for another veterinarian to join our amazing team! 

 

Our two-doctor team currently consists of Dr. Flanagan, our founder with 25 years of experience, and Dr.  McManaway, who graduated from Auburn University in 2023. Both have deep interest in surgery, comprehensive wellness care, and diagnostic / sick pet evaluation. They are supported by a highly confident support staff with multiple LVTs, assistants, client care specialists, and kennel technicians. Together, our support team has over a century of experience!

 

We make it a point to emphasize flexible scheduling and adequate work-life balance for all our doctors. Full time schedules are Monday – Friday with no weekends and one day off each week! Our doctors typically arrive at 7:30 AM and leave around 5:30 PM with a lunch / catch-up break from 12 – 2 PM.

 

We welcome doctors of all experience levels! Dr. Flanagan’s accumulated knowledge and our in-depth mentorship program will ensure that any new graduate will have the confidence they need to practice great medicine. For experienced doctors, our practice has the tools, equipment, and team that you need to continue being great!

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
