We are a full-service veterinary hospital outfitted with cutting edge technology and all the modern veterinary therapies. Our team is currently made up of 3 confident and experienced doctors backed by an equally skillful support staff of technicians and assistants. We pride ourselves on our top-of-the-line care and are proud to have served Alachua for decades.

Position Purpose

Hilltop Family Vet in Alachua, FL is looking for a part-time veterinarian to help with our weekend caseload! Currently, we could use an additional doctor to assist with our 8 AM - 12 PM hours on Saturdays. If desired, we could work to add Friday or Sunday hours to your schedule as well.

 

We welcome veterinarians of all experience levels. Our practice will provide ample opportunity for any DVM to truly practice their best medicine. For any new graduates, we are happy to provide any needed mentorship and believe our expansive and diverse caseloads will provide vast opportunities to learn and grow.

About the area: Alachua is a community located north of Gainesville, home to the University of Florida. We’ve got a healthy dose of southern charm and a picturesque main street lined with family-owned shops and restaurants. The area supports outdoor enthusiasts with bike and equestrian trails through wildflower fields and piney woods. We are actually home to the world’s largest freshwater springs and are considered a cave diving mecca for any diving thrill seekers. The area is also economically successful as a number of high-tech manufacturing companies have made Alachua home.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
