Abri Veterinary Hospital is a AAHA accredited practice that has served the Winston-Salem community for over 20 years.

 

Our team consists of a cohesive and tenured DVM team and support staff that includes several Certified Veterinary Technicians. Our hospital is well equipped with a comprehensive in-house laboratory, digital radiography, and ultrasound.

Position Purpose

We are seeking a personable, enthusiastic, and motivated part-time veterinarian to join our team! We welcome veterinarians of all experience levels as our doctors are enthusiastic to share their knowledge and mentor a recent graduate.

Our hospital would be great for DVMs of varying interests as our services provided include a wide array of preventative medicine, wellness care, dentistry, and surgery.

 

In addition to spays and neuters and teeth cleaning, we do a broad range of surgical procedures. These include:

 

  • Including bone plating and pinning for fractures
  • Splenectomies
  • Gastrointestinal surgeries
  • Urinary bladder surgery to remove stones and tumors
  • Urethrostomies
  • Ear canal resections for chronic ear disease
  • Lateral stabilization procedures for torn ACLs.

 

Hours are flexible. We try to accommodate all schedules. Full or part-time positions available, four-day work weeks are available. Interest in client education, surgery, and dentistry is preferred. After hours emergencies are referred to nearby emergency clinics.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
