Suburban Animal Clinic has been a fixture within Columbus, OH since 1960. We offer the highest standard of care available. We strive to offer the widest array of small animal services possible including ultrasound imaging, laser therapy, chiropractics, and advanced orthopedic surgeries.

 

Our hospital utilizes ultrasound, comprehensive laboratories, digital dental and traditional x-ray units, and separate surgical / dental suites. Our support team consists of multiple RVTs who are trained to assist with rooms, anesthesia, dentals, and more.

Suburban Animal Clinic has been proudly serving Central Ohio since 1960, delivering top-tier care across a comprehensive range of services from routine wellness and dentistry to advanced orthopedic surgery, laser therapy, ultrasound imaging, and chiropractic care. Our modern hospital features state-of-the-art digital dental and traditional X-rays, a full in-house lab, ultrasound, and dedicated surgical and dental suites. You'll join a supportive team consisting of experienced DVMs and skilled RVTs who assist with anesthesia, dentals, and more.

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to work alongside our collaborative team in delivering exceptional veterinary care. This role offers flexibility, a balanced schedule, and meaningful engagement with pets and pet owners in a friendly community practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and complex exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, surgeries, and dental procedures
  • Collaborate closely with RVTs and support staff to ensure seamless, high-quality patient care
  • Educate clients on pet health, wellness, and preventive strategies
  • Maintain accurate medical records and support practice's shift to digital workflows

  • Skilled in general small-animal medicine, surgery, and client communication

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $85,000.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
