Animal Tracks is a small animal clinic that offers a wide range of services including vaccines, surgery, dental cleanings, in-hospital bloodwork, digital radiographs, Ultrasound, boarding, and doggie daycare. The Animal Tracks team is a group of caring individuals dedicated to providing quality pet care in a warm, friendly, and family-like environment. Our passion is animals, and we treat each of our patients as family members.

Position Purpose

Our team is ready to welcome a veterinarian of any experience level! As a young doctor, we'll provide mentorship to get you started in this wonderful career. As an experience doctor, we'll support whatever your passions may be!

 

About the area: Decatur is nicknamed "The River City," because of our location in northern Alabama on the banks of Wheeler Lake along the Tennessee River. Hosting some of the premier festivals in the south, you'll want to partake in such events as the Alabama Jubilee, Spirit of America Festival and Riverfest (to name a few!). You'll find Decatur a great place to call home and welcome friends and family!  

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
