A1 Vet Care is excited to welcome a warm, dedicated Associate Veterinarian to our mixed-animal practice in beautiful Coshocton, OH. From dogs and cats to large animals and pocket pets—and with the openness to add exotic species—you’ll have the freedom to shape the kind of medicine you love. We also have a brand-new farm truck ready for on-site large-animal visits, offering an incredible opportunity for variety and fieldwork.

Mixed Animal + Pocket Pets + Open to Adding Exotics

You’ll have the chance to care for:
Dogs, cats, cattle, horses, goats, sheep, pigs, and pocket pets—with openness to introduce exotic species based on your passion and skillset.

The arrival of our farm truck means large-animal and field services will continue to grow, giving you the autonomy to create the kind of mixed-animal work you’ve always wanted.

Surgery & Dentistry

From soft tissue surgery to a strong dental program, we encourage doctors to practice the skills they love most and grow confidently with the support of a well-equipped facility.

Your Schedule & Balance

  • Currently Monday–Thursday
  • Plans to expand to Monday–Friday
  • Potential rotating Saturdays in the future
  • No on-call

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
