A Career That Fits Your Life

You didn’t become a veterinarian to feel overbooked or burned out, you did it because you care—about animals, about people, and about doing meaningful work. At State Road Animal Hospital in Elkin, NC, we’ve built a practice that protects that passion.

We’re a three-doctor team that believes the best medicine happens when veterinarians feel supported, trusted, and balanced. Now, we’re ready to welcome another DVM who wants more than just a job—they want a place to belong.

We take work-life balance seriously—not as a buzzword, but as a daily commitment.

  • Flexible scheduling designed around you
  • Unlimited paid time off (because life doesn’t fit in a box)
  • A culture that respects your time, your boundaries, and your wellbeing

This is a place where you can be fully present at work—and fully present at home.

Our wide range of services allows you to build a caseload that genuinely excites you. Whether you love surgery, wellness care, dentistry, diagnostics, or a mix of everything—we’ll support your path. Here, your interests aren’t just accommodated—they’re encouraged.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Values teamwork and communication
  • Brings a positive, grounded approach to their work
  • Wants to be part of a practice that feels like home

Growth—on your terms

Whether you’re a new graduate or a seasoned DVM, you’ll have opportunities to grow in ways that matter to you. We invest in your development, support your goals, and create space for you to evolve professionally without losing balance personally.
