Position Purpose

South Platte Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced veterinarian who is ready to take the next step in their career and join us as our Managing Veterinarian!

Located in Sheridan, Colorado, just outside Denver, South Platte Veterinary Hospital is a full-service small animal practice with a talented, close-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together. We’ve built a culture centered around compassion, teamwork, open communication, and providing an exceptional experience for both our patients and the people who love them.

This is an exciting opportunity for a veterinarian who loves practicing medicine but is also energized by mentorship, leadership, and helping a great team thrive. As Managing Veterinarian, you’ll continue to spend time doing what you love in the exam room while also partnering with practice leadership to help guide the medical direction of the hospital, support your fellow doctors and team members, and foster the positive culture that makes South Platte such a special place to work.

Our hospital offers comprehensive care for dogs and cats, including preventive medicine, dentistry, surgery, advanced diagnostics, an in-house laboratory, illness and injury care, and compassionate end-of-life services. We believe strongly in thoughtful, individualized medicine and clear communication so clients feel informed and confident in the decisions they make for their pets.

What makes South Platte special? The people. Our team is experienced, hardworking, supportive, and knows how to have fun together. We’re looking for a leader who values collaboration and wants to work alongside the team—not simply manage from the sidelines. Someone approachable and positive who can provide mentorship, encourage continued growth, and help maintain a hospital culture where people enjoy coming to work.

Sheridan offers an ideal location in the Denver metro area, with easy access to everything the city has to offer while keeping Colorado’s incredible outdoor recreation within reach. Whether your time outside the hospital is spent hiking, skiing, exploring Denver, or heading into the mountains for the weekend, it’s a great place to build both your career and your life.

If you’re an experienced veterinarian looking for an opportunity to lead a strong team, practice high-quality medicine, and make a meaningful impact on the future of a hospital, we’d love to meet you.

Come lead, grow, and have some fun with us at South Platte Veterinary Hospital!
